How to set up Clibo, use the screen-edge dock and the quick panel, keep sensitive content out of your history, and fix the usual snags.

Overview

Clibo is a lightweight clipboard history for Mac. It records what you copy and lets you reuse it from a dock on your screen edge or a quick panel on a global shortcut. It needs macOS 26 Tahoe or later on Apple Silicon, and a license.

Install and license

  1. Download the latest Clibo DMG from the website.
  2. Open the DMG and drag Clibo into Applications.
  3. Launch Clibo. The first launch asks for your license key.

Clibo needs a license from the first launch; there is no free trial and no subscription. After you buy, the key appears on the purchase page and in the receipt email. A license activates up to 2 Macs.

Permissions

Accessibility lets Clibo recognise password fields so they are never recorded, and paste into the app in front when you use a paste shortcut. The license is stored in the macOS Keychain.

The edge dock

At rest the dock is a small pill on your screen edge. Move the pointer to it and it unfolds into rings for text, email, code, images, links, and files. Point at a ring to see the latest items of that kind and click one to copy it again. Images appear as large previews you can page through, code as highlighted cards, and a double-click opens a link or reveals a file in Finder. The button at the top of the dock pauses recording. Settings control when it shows, its size, look, the types shown, the edge, and the display.

Quick panel

Open the quick panel with your global shortcut or the menu bar icon, type to search, then press Return to paste or Option-Return to paste as plain text. Number shortcuts paste one of your latest copies straight away.

Privacy

History is stored on your Mac, with no account, no cloud backend, and no analytics. Password fields, concealed items, and secret-looking text are never recorded; you can exclude apps and add patterns. Clibo contacts the network only to activate and check your license, to check for updates, and, if you turn it on, to read the title of a public link you copy.

History and import

Choose how much history to keep and whether old items are cleaned up automatically. Import history, images, files, and pinned items from Maccy in Settings under Data.

Troubleshooting

If history is not updating, check that recording is not paused, that your license is active, and that the source app is not excluded. If the dock is not showing, check that a license is active and that Display is not set to Hide.
